For nearly 15 years, James X. Bormes has practiced complex commercial litigation in
his own firm located on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. His firm has represented
clients in the litigation, arbitration and mediation of disputes in
many areas of law not only in Illinois but in about 10 other states as well. His broad litigation experience allows him to bring
the full spectrum of his knowledge to bear on behalf of his clients. He
regularly seeks other highly respected firms to be his co-counsel so
he has the resources to represent his clients in complex cases involving substantial
amounts of money.
Mr. Bormes clerked for a federal district judge after graduating from Saint Louis University Law School and for many years he has been AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell Law Directory.
He was the lead plaintiff in a case before the United States Supreme Court on behalf of law firms throughout the country involving
the payment of court filing fees to the U.S. government.
Mr. Bormes has been involved in lawsuits which have been covered by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun-Times and dozens of other newspapers and legal periodicals throughout the country.
