          James X. Bormes, Principal, born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, magna cum laude, from Saint Louis University in 1984 and his Juris Doctorate degree from Saint Louis University in 1988.  He was the Omar Poos Scholar in law school and a member of the Law Journal.  After graduating from law school, he clerked for the Honorable William L. Beatty of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.  In 1989, he began practicing in Chicago, Illinois in the areas of complex commercial and class action litigation as well as construction litigation.  Mr. Bormes is a member of the Illinois Bar, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Northern District of Illinois (including trial bar), the Central District of Illinois, the Southern District of Illinois and the Western District of Texas.  He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association. 

          Catherine P. Sons, Associate, is a 2006 graduate of DePaul University College of Law, where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar and served as an Associate Editor of the DePaul Law Review.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Illinois State University in 2002, where she was a Presidential Scholar and graduated summa cum laude.  Catherine is involved in the firm’s complex civil litigation and class action litigation work, and has experience representing employees in various wage and hour matters.  She is a member of the Illinois Bar and the Northern District of Illinois.  She is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association.
